Thank God for seeing me thro today. Slept at 3 plus last night after completing the recording for the NTM songs. Feeling really tired to wake up but had to duplicate the CDs for the team and also burn the minus one track Eld Boon would be singing during service (this is the back up plan if my hand is too painful to play). Couldnt locate file in my laptop or ext hard disk and decided to find the midi file stored in my piano. Lo and behold it is still there! Copied out and make into audio CD just mins b4 we left our home for lunch then church.
Got to Tengah at 1.30pm to practice with Eld Boon. Was thinking of trying out the CD so i didnt have to play. Eld Boon didnt mind using minus one track too but to my horror, it was done in the wrong pitch!!!! I forgot to transpose higher for him. The lowest note was G before middle C, hmmm, uncomfortable range for man to sing. Whatever was i thinking when i rushed thro? Oh no, this meant only 1 option left.......to play live.
Eld Boon chuckled and said there was one more, i.e. he lip sync to the album CD......which to me is a No-No.
But to play live meant i had to transpose to higher key with the 1,2,3,4,5 thingy. I had not even figured out the chords for original key (it had been donkey months since i last played the song for the recording) and it was like 20 mins to 2pm......argh...... I went to Ekklesia and wrote as fast as i could. Managed to scrap thro in 5 tho i wasnt really confident about it.
I knew i had to play coz it was a really stupid mistake of mine to render the minus one track in the wrong key and so, thro the prayers of all, God enabled, tho it was painful at certain times during playing. God is good and gracious.
Oh yes, here's a salute to Theophila, Norman and those youths who played the piano for Jordan mission team using 1,2,3. Not easy feat, at least to me. Well done!
Need to mention Joyful Singers' song item this afternoon. It touched a chord in my heart and i teared. Every word of it (the chinese version especially) mean so much to me as it further encourage and strengthen my faith. The title says it all......
Children of God how blessed you are!
In times of stress, still be at peace,
in busyness still be at ease,
In times of failure, still rejoicing,
in persecution till stand strong.
In desperate times, hopes still linger;
in loneliness, His love remains,
In times of trouble, there is help;
upon death, there is life everlasting.
Children of God how blessed you are
How blest, how blest.
There was a reading in RPG where Rev Dennis Kwok wrote tis thot:
How do you encourage someone who cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel?
The answer i will give to that soul:
Believe the light is there because you believe in the One who say it is there tho you cant see it.
Thank You Lord for choosing and loving me. I am blessed!
