Goodbye lunch

It was supposed to be a whole day out with my best friend and I but it didnt come to pass. Organised the hike or walk to Henderson wave... wanted to bring her there but no go. Guess she is too tired due to various activities since she arrived about a week back. And so, we had a lunch fellowship instead.

Plaza Market Place - the eatery Tengah went after our family day to Sentosa about 6 years back... i think. Still remember the lovely durian pudding and the various dishes. Yummy... yummy! Oops.... didnt take pics of the food... anyhow, i tried to eat quite a lot and love the dim sum, the ma ku kueh (with sugar) and the ice kaching topped with durian pudding (i made it myself!!!!) Had to watch what i ate coz eld Boon told them the other day that i only ate bread even in a buffet setting. And so today, i avoided bread tho i wanted to eat badly. :(

It was a pleasant time to catch up with friends. Didnt realise Popeye & Billy both taking the crash course in music theory at FEBC (under Janice)!!! Carrie is taking that too and i think it is rather tough... anyhow, after about 2 months into the course, i tested the harichaikul brothers and they failed....:( Asked them what is compound time signature and it drew a blank. Told them if they couldnt explain, at least give me an example.

Hmm.....Billy was very quick to change topic....he edged out of the situation by bringing up my "clumsy past". Cited those blur things that i did.......only those concerning music...

1) CtYFers presented a song in Pandan for our CD. Anyone remembered? It was super embarassing.... the microphone dropped with a loud bang after i adjusted or rather shifted it nearer to the Yfers. It just had to happen before the item began.

2) NTM echo where i sang SOLO during the intermission.... argh.... that was also an incident i wished to forget.

He did achieve his objectives coz our conversation topic now focused on me! SIGH!!! Warunee didnt know what happened during echo and so we told her. She commented after that:

"Aiyoh Madam... you spoiled the Lahu song".....face grinning away. Yah...i know :o(

We next talked about choirs in our churches and concluded Pandan has the best choir. But heard from Billy that some choir members sing out of tune and pitch during congregational singing. He is puzzled himself too... hmmm......

He went on to talk about the conductor in Pandan's choir, as in how good she is and very very "illustrative".  Did an impromptu impersonation of her......he was entertaining alright.  I think she really does a good job, able to bring out the choir members' voices and interpretation of the piece they are singing.  Oh boy.... they started to talk about my conducting. Haiyo...so lousy and really nothing to talk about.  All of a sudden, i remembered an incident.... think it was church anniversary or good friday or some event, i conducted for YFer's item. Moved my right hand too wide and it hit aunty Cheryll's head!!!! HAHAHAHAHAA....it was very comical and at the corner of my eye, i saw her moving further into the pew to avoid me.... LOL! It was so so hard to contain my laughter but i had to or else the YFers will be laughing instead of finishing the song. Endured all the way till the end.   Told this to the Harichaikuls and they laughed till they cried.   Yah... those were my BLUR days... who doesnt have them???

Oh well..... thank God for a good time to catch up... wish i had more of these. In fact, thot she had reserved today to spend with me but last minute the Thai church is giving her a farewell dinner and so she cannot make it to YF :(

She will be leaving on Monday and i wont be seeing her till June when she comes for Pandan church camp. Guess msn and google chat will be good between us for now. Some pics to add to my memory bank.... :o)

Oh yes... Warunee told me 2 funny incidents. Guess these will fall under the category of MIS-INTERPRETED & MIS-SPOKEN!!!!

During NTM caroling, Eld Boon prayed for Uncle Chalo (before we left BDC compound). He prayed for the health of unc chalo's mother-in-law but Billy interpreted as step mother!!!! Hahaha... uncle chalo commented and laughed after the prayer.. tho none of us knew what happened. Eld Boon didnt know till our lunch in Cafe Cartel that monday.

Next was at one of the houses, after singing 2 carols and Eld Boon prayed for the family "may God give abundant blessings to this family and bless them with more children...etc.." something to that effect.  The lahu people giggled over this after prayer.  Why?  Because this family already has 5 children and struggling to cope plus handling so many and now elder has prayed for more!!!!!  hahahahahahahaha........ think they will remember eld boon for years to come!
