Hilarious stuff.. :)

Encountered a few hilarious incidents recently:

1) Dr Lowly's mom asked me a question on Sun. It is not an ordinary question that one can answer. A tough cookie and honestly, i had no idea why she'd asked......
"Why is Lee Koon (lowly's younger bro) 7 years different from lowly?"

HUH????
ERH.......
AH......i really dont know!

Oh boy.....how would i know why she didnt have any kids after lowly and waited 7 years for the youngest son to come out? Then i thot about Shing & his usual GYM stuff.....NOOO.. this is not happening. I dont have that look!!

I giggled myself away and told Rac & Iz. They laughed too. I guess it had everything to do with family planning lor! My laughter soon stopped when she spoke up....

"There was a miscarriage after Dr lowly and so that was the reason"

I am sorry to hear that and it was then that i realized she was recounting the days and wondering to herself. She wasnt really asking me per se......chay.......

2) Next came another interesting one. Dr Lowly's 2nd bro's kids are with her Mon-Fri, as in Before and After school care kind of thingy. In fact, they had been there longest possible time. For Jeremy, we have known him from young and he used to be this cute little boy whom we brought to church and even brought home with us one day. Then he erh... suddenly BALLOONED to such a huge mass and even his little bro followed suit. From young he was very adorable but now, both of them are soooo overweight.

I mentioned to Dr Lowly's mom that these two have ballooned over the years. Her reply was very genuine:

"I also dont know. Everyday i feed them with just enough food and not too much and suddenly they BOOM!"

HAHAHAAHA.... this answer tickled me so much... i couldnt stop laughing. On one hand she fed them sufficiently and the other, she didnt think it was her food that fatten them up. So i guess it could have been the food they ate on weekends and weekday nights when they went home... late night supper and stuff.... i dont know but honestly, our Singapore kids are getting FAT!!!

3) Sourcing for printer for YF songbook was an interesting event. As opposed to what happened last time... as in I needed to ask for requote, ask for lesser rates and find printer or get contact from other people... this time round, it was an easy task. Checked up the numbers i stored in my HP.... they were listed like this:

Printer William Wan
Printer Chan
Printer Michael Hing
Printer Kwan Leng

Hmmmm... i know the first & last guy (they did jobs that i could remember) but who were the middle 2???? It didnt stop me from smsing them to get a quote. They all replied btw and Michael's quote was like $20-$25 per book. William and Kwan Leng gave me a quote of $12 per book and Chan.... his was the funniest. He called me to find out more and in the conversation, he told me my name sounded very familiar but he couldnt recall which printing job. I told him i had no recollection of what happened or who he is but i know his HP no is listed in my Nokia.

And so our conversation went from quote to finding out where did our paths cross? He already knew i am from a church and yet he was so sure when he said this....

"Oh yes.. I know.....you are from MARTELL, right? The MArtell job!"

Excuse me???? Martell???? HAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHA..........

Then he said "temple" and some wayout companies. I couldnt take all the guesses and so i said "CD"....Perhaps we know each other thro CD project. And true enough... it was the recent Eld Boon's Chinese CD for inauguration. Tada!!!

And so I told Michael his quote was too high and thanked him for the quote. He came back with persistence smses and from $20-$25, he lowered his price to $12 per book!!!! Can you imagine that? He told me in sms that he needed to get the job from me. Whoa... so desperate these days? But i am very comfortable to give the job to Kwan Leng or William coz they quoted me genuinely at that price that they can do and not undercutting like Michael. ... should i say overly priced in the first place???

After some changes and exchange, William quoted me a final price of $10.18 per book and Kwan Leng backed out coz he said he cannot match. Michael??? When i told him thanks for quote and politely saying i had a better quote of $10 per book, his sms was this: "Den i give you $10 per book lor"

Hmmm..... somehow i dont feel comfortable coz i am afraid he may not do a good job, esp after so much reduction in his quote. And yes, William got the job and pray we can finalize all stuff over weekend to get this project going. God willing, we will get our books 1st week of March :)

Lastly, show you a pic i took that truly tickled me. Hospital saves lives and i also learn they save other things too......

Must give kudos to this hospital for being so sensitive towards the needs of their patients. So far, i didnt have to use this "resuscitation" facility because i faithfully charge my phone every night.

And to end it all, here are some pics i took while in a "resort-styled" bus... cannot remember the number but it was a public bus i took along Dunearn Road. Luxuriously styled....i just had to snap a few pics without irritating those who sat directly opposite me.....

Holiday mood.....anyone???? :)
